just my .02 but I think I would do a variety of beautifully colored fish given the size of your tank.

Thanks for your input. On one hand, having a small group of the same species appeals to me, but I also agree with having a variety of interesting fish. What if I were to use my current inhabitants as a starting point instead of removing the smaller fish and starting from scratch. This is what is currently in the tank:

    1 Chalk Bass
    1 Starry Blenny
    1 Bangai Cardinalfish
    1 Heniochus Butterflyfish
1 Mertensii Butterflyfish (has another 10 days in QT. I am worried about this fish being bullied by the Heniochus when he moves into the DT.)

What would you add building on this list? I am done with Butterflies so I would like to avoid them.

I would be thinking angels for sure. You can also do tangs in that size of tank. A purple tang would be very nice. Gosh, you have so many options :)

Thanks for the ideas. I like the idea of Anthias, some nice ones have appeared on diver's den recently. I am also open to Wrasses. Dumb question, but a harem would consist of a small group of the same species? I would just want to avoid wrasses that would harass the smaller fish. The only fish that I really have my heart set on is the Harlequin Tusk

Harem is typically one male and any number of females. I have limited 1st hand experience with wrasses but I believe there are a number of passive types that would not harass your smaller fish, the tank size works in your favor.
I have had Purple Tangs though and everyone I have had did turn aggressive towards it's tank mates.

I will research some possible wrasse harems further, nice suggestion. I was avoiding the purple tang due to stories I have heard of them turning aggressive as they age. For tangs, I was thinking something like:
    -1 Yellow-eye Kole Tang
    -1 Convict Tang
    -1 Yellow Tang

Corailline always has good fish ideas. I'm gonna request a stocking list from her on my next tank build, with a budget of course. She has a champagne taste in fish and I work off a box a wine budget :) That blotched anthias is pretty! In a tank that size my two favorite fish would be a Purple Tang (read your comments) and an Annularis Angel. Or blow the roof off and get a Peppermint Angel.. ;)
