Today is RO day at the house so I thought I'd share this pic of SpectraPure's heavy-hitting MaxCap 400 UHE I took last week at the MAX show. SpectraPure took the technology used in their commercial PSP systems and downsized them a bit to create this 400 GPD 5 Stage RO/DI filter. The Ultra-High Efficiency Module is microprocessor controlled and achieves a 1:2 ratio - that's two gallons of DI water to 1 gallon of waste. That is a lot better than you find in a lot of other RO/DI filters out there and 400 GPD ought to fill some big tanks fast.

Our NEW MaxCap® UHE 400 ™ (Ultra-High Efficiency 400 GPD 5 Stage RO/DI) System has been designed to conserve one of our most precious resources…. Water. We have miniaturized the technology used in our rugged commercial PSP systems to achieve an incredible 1:2 ratio (* that’s one gallon of waste to TWO gallons of Ultra High Purity DI water.*) in a microprocessor-controlled system no bigger than a standard RO/DI system!

With such high production rates, this revolutionary system has extremely low operational costs compared to any other system. Pre-filters last 2-3 times longer over conventional higher waste systems and the integral microprocessor-controlled UHE boost module automatically performs periodic pure water membrane flushes to extend membrane life and eliminate TDS creep. The MaxCap® UHE 400 ™ also uses our field proven extra long life MaxCap® DI technology to produce Ultra-Pure DI water at half the cost of other systems. Reduce your water consumption and waste by four to ten times over other systems all while producing 400 gallons of ultra pure water per day at extremely low operational costs, all without compromising system performance or reliability!

• MICROPROCESSOR UHE CONTROL MODULE:
- Ultra-High Efficiency Module - Low Waste system (1:1 or better).
- Integral Boost Pump: Operates even in low supply pressure problem areas.
- Automatic Periodic Pure Water Membrane Flush!
- Membranes last longer! No more TDS Creep!

• HIGHEST EFFICIENCY PRE-FILTRATION AVAILABLE:
- Our best 0.2 Micron (Absolute) 20" ZetaZorb™ Sediment Filter. 5X more dirt holding capacity than a 0.5 Micron Filter!
- Our best 0.5 Micron high capacity 20" Chloramine removal Carbon Block Filter. (20,000 Gallon Chlorine Removal!)
- Pre-Filters last 2x-3x longer in the UHE system as less waste=less water thru pre filters=longer life=more money saved!

• BEST OF THE BEST RO MEMBRANE:
- High-silicate removal, Thin Film Composite, Reverse Osmosis Membrane
- 400 Gallons Per Day (or more!) with High Rejection, long life!

• ULTRA CAPACITY DUAL STAGE DI:
- MaxCap® DI has 3.5 times more capacity than a typical mixed bed DI cartridge. Cuts DI water production costs in half!
- SpectraPure’s Silica-Buster™ DI maximizes silica & phosphate removal.

• ACCESSORIES INCLUDED WITH SYSTEM:
- (2) In-Line Dual TDS meters: Accurately monitor filter changes. No more guessing when to change DI.
- Liquid Filled Pressure Gauge: Monitors Pre-Filter changes.
- Filter Wrench: Helps remove Housing Canisters.
- Dual Electric Float Switches: Automates system to fill an atmospheric storage tank (open reservoir) of any size.

This 400 GPD RO/DI System combines our innovative UHE™ 1:1 Technology with our MaxCap® Technology to create a water processing system that produces High Quality, Ultra-Pure water while reducing water consumption and waste by four to ten times over other systems. Produce 400 gallons per day without compromising membrane life or system reliability!

So, did you get one yet;D

I own the 100 GPD MaxCap UHE myself and love it! It makes slightly over 120 GPD here in Phoenix and its been up and running over a year now and going strong. I am running it at around 0.66:1 waste ratio or 2/3 of a gallon waste to 1 gallon of RO/DI and our tap TDS always exceed 500, usually over 750 in fact. The RO only before DI is averaging 99.35% rejection and DI seems to last forever.

I think 400 GPD would be a little much for my nano. ;D
I am happy with my ProPlus but I commend the DI/Waste ratio that SpectraPure pulled off on this unit. Wasting water bothers me a bit.

Might be worth it just to waste less water.

What I have found is you not only save lots of water but your prefilter and carbon block last a long long time too since there is much less passing through them compared to a 4:1 system. I monitor pressure drop and chlorine breakthru and mine are still original and going strong.

Brass is only used on tap water and waste water lines, never product water.

As it makes DI water, it's not the best for coffee, although some love and swear by it.

We offer the Coffee Lovers Systems (CLS series) for "Gold-Cup Standard" coffee.

The retail price for the UHE-400 is $1799.99.
