i suppose after taking into considaration the rock and sand in my d/t it holds around 65 gallons. i have read that it needs to circulate about 10 x per hour that amount.
my question is passing throught the sump/ fuge at this speed will the culepra, mud and skimmer in my sump take out all the nitrates ect ok or do i need to slow it down for this type of eco system?
also would you advise a filter sock on end of my pipe out of d/t?

I wouldn't pass it through your fuge that fast. Maybe 10% of your DT per hour. I usually shoot for around 6 or 7 times through the sump though.
