Last night my turbo snail was releasing sperm into the water. Now today, he's upside down. Is he just really spent or is he gonna die? And just the other day, a different kind of snail laid more eggs on the back glass. Maybe breeding season?

Here I is. Truth is, it might have been coincidental that the Turbo was spawning and then ended up upside down, but...lots of reef animals, including many molluscs, will attempt to spawn as they sense that they are dying. Even if it's old age, toxins in the water, or being eaten, the response may be the same. Most of the time this won't be to any avail, since the eggs will be infertile or the sperm will just die or be eaten, but it's an attempt at keeping the species surviving even if one individual is dying. Did your Turbo live or die?

Thanks Don! It is alive and happy. But one just died the other day, but now at night there tons of little white baby turbo snails on the rocks.
