I purchased enough of these to redo the overflow plumbing under my tank. The ball-type T-handle gate valves just don't afford me enough control and become VERY hard to turn in my experience.

Home Depot doesn't sell these things, but I found them in a hardware store that claims to have "everything!" They weren't lying in this case.

I first saw these on a Precision Marine Protein Skimmer. Since then I've been looking for them all over; but had no luck finding them.

Since my 90 build I've had to cut the flow somewhat to compensate for bubbling or gurgling or having the flow too fast in the 'fuge, to slow back to the DT, etc. Each time I try to adjust flow with the T handle, it's so hard to turn, it winds up breaking free and travelling more than I wanted. So I go the other way, and the same thing happens. Here is the T handle gate valve to which I refer behind the skimmer:

Here's some pics for guys like Luna and anyone else. :) The beauty of these valves is that they're all plastic--a must for the reefer!

Kogle, if you can't find these, I'll pick some up for you and send them over. They'd be a bit more expensive with shipping, but I'd do it for a fellow 3reefer. They went for $849 ea.

This is a hole in the wall hardware store. I'm sure they don't have a website. I've really looked all over for these for months. No luck. :(

Regarding that link, what was the link to? I'mwilling to bet that it's not become against any rules to post links on 3reef.

    Savko Plastic Pipe & Fittings

I think I'm going to swap out my ball valve on my fuge feed for one of these. Much easier to dial in.

Exactly. The T type gate valves are fine I guess if they're completely accessible and you can put your man on it. . But put one behind a skimmer under a tank, and you're going to have a tough time. :-/

The Lowes by me has those in 1" 1.5" 2" and 3". I am doing the same thing, replacing all my old style PITA ball valves with them.
