So I was told to use a splash guard for my t-5 fixture. I went to home depot to get some kind of plexi, but there was two types. Acrylic and polycarbonate about an 1/8 inch thick. Which would be better? I believe the poly said it had UV blockers but the acrylic didn't say anything. Should I go for the acrylic?

You need UV blocking for DE MH lamps. With T5 lighting, the shielding is built into the bulb. I would just use whichever is cheapest.
