This is a two for one thread. Give you folks a chance to up your post count. The first is what I believe to be a sponge, what kind? No idea. The second is completely foreign to me. It just looks like a tiny flower.

Unknown #1 (these are about 2-3cm in length and are all over the live rock)

Unknown #2 - This is no bigger than 1mm and I'm fairly certain it isn't a feather duster or anything like that, it has no tube and seems stationary. It is attached to the dead portion of coral via what looks like a simple plant stem. It would be more hassle then it is worth to try and get a better picture.

Different perspective on #2. It might be hard to spot, I tried to center it in the picture.[IMG]

The red tubes you mean? They look like vermitid snails

No... The teeny tiny little star to the left of the tubes. The second picture in my post is a close-up. No tubes on it or near it or under it.

It will be interesting to see what it does as it grows. Very pretty. Best I can do is say it is an octocoral. I think it is definitely safe.

    Yes.

The other one appears to be some species of clove polyp.

I know! The lighting might just be a trick of the camera but with the naked eye it really is still very bright. The only problem is that it is so small it is hard to really tell anything. I had no idea how many "pedals" it had until I zoomed in on the pic with photoshop.
