So I got the sponge yesterday. I made sure the LFS didn't expose it to air and after I acclimate it I followed Robmans advice and got it set in my dt w/o exposing it. So then I decided to finish my fuge which is a long story that left my old mind very tired. So long story short is while readjusting flow in the dt I set a pump too close to the surface and it sucked a bunch of air filling the dt with microbubbles. I'm so pi$$ed at myself...
Should I worry about the sponge? What should I look for if it was effected?

microbubbles won't always kill a sponge. the signs of an issue are white spots forming anywhere on the sponge. I had two get exposed to micro bubbles one died, and other lived. in case you don't know why air matters the air get stuck in the water channels and the sponge starves to death.

Thanks. Yeah I know why it's bad for them, that's why I'm worried. The pump is a 525 SEIO and I was in the other room when I heard it suck air. By the time I got to my tank I couldn't see through the water but the sponge is low and mostly in a crevace under the rocks. I hope I didnt kill it

I place my sponge all the way across the tank from my powerhead in the corner.. so if there are air bubbles usally they will raise up towards the water line before reaching sponge.
