well if you all dont know of my situation i inherited a 125 tall that was on a downward spiral into green hair alge death. its been over 4 weeks now and the tank is rid of all but a small amount here and there. i am now noticing all kinds of life in the tank that i could have never imagined.
    so down to the question.......
how much "sponge" is in your tank. what does it feed off of and how much is too much. i hear it can take over some coral. but what about live rock???? should i keep it in check. and how do i keep it in check?

sorry for the overload of question in one post. i guess i will slow down now:-[

Funny story, I just purchased 2 sponges for my 120g today. Red Tree(bout 15") and Orange Frilly Sponge (bout 5"). Very few people seem to know much about them. I plan on feeding them Zooplankton as for the site i purchased them from suggested that. If they are to thrive they need the correct flow in the tank because all of the stuff that they eat they get from the water flowing through them.

Ill definitely sit this one with you, Id like to learn much more about these creatures.

    Amazing pic!

My friends think its the light reflecting off my rock, I have some tufa rock in there and ever since I cant take clear pictures. But yet when you look at the aquarium its crystal clear. lol

Come to think of it my Tree Sponge might be taller then I thought? My aquarium is 24" high... and its almost to the top now that I look at it LOL.

looks like its out of focus. try to manual focus it just to make sure the camera is not picking up particals in the water and focusing on them instead. i tend to get the most resolution when i chose the focus point.

so whats up with the sponge questions. are there any sponge guru's out there?

IF you call liveaquaria, they have a few techs there that have experience with marine sponges, Hence a few of my questions got answered...
