Anyone else have an issue with this? I have sponges that have grown in between all my gsp polyps and in my zoas and it appears to be drastically affecting their growth. Any thoughts?

Rip it off and throw it away, or put it in the sump bc they are really good for the tank.

    +1 for the sump.

They are great for the tank. I actually use the additive from zeovit for sponges and tunicates for the simple fact that sponges help keep the water so clear.

Yeah, i use that additive too, it's just annoying because it's impeding their growth.

I have th esame problem with my Snake Zoo's, I take a toothbrush and clean them weekly...I havent noticed the sponge coming up any where else so it wil help if ya brush em....DO NOT use colgate :) If left alone it will smother them and they will eventually die....I havent tried this but I heard that sponges will die after a time in freshwater....I do not know how long corals will last in a freshwater dip though?
    Good Luck

I've been picking the sponges off of my skimmer sponge and off of my corals. I end up tossing them around the rubble pile I have going.
