I was at the LFS today and they had some really cool looking sponges. They were bright orange in color. Have anyone here had experience with sponges. When I see pic of reef tanks I do not see sponges. Are they hard to keep. I thought it would look good in my tank. Any info would be appreciated.

There's my Orange Tree Sponge. I've been told that they don't last very long in aquariums but time will have to prove it to me. I've had it for 2 months now and it's just as orange today as it is in the pic + one of the branches is beginning to split.
They like lower light and medium high flow. I had the perfect spot for this one. I also feed the tank DT's 2x per month.
If you do end up getting one stand right by the LFS employee and make sure they never expose the sponge to the air while bagging it. If air get's into the pores it will block the food off and the sponge will starve to death. Goes the same when you get it home. Acclimate to temp, push the bag under the wate cut it open. Remove the sponge under water.

Thanks for the info and the great advice. I have never had a large sponge like this so I wanted to check.
