I have this on two rocks, it on the underside that does not get direct light.
Seams to be growing tentical and spreading, should it be removed.

    Thanks

can't really make it out in the pic. Is it off white/grey in color? Does it have little siphons like clams? It might be sponge. If so, it's nothing to worry about.

Just looked at the pic again. Yeah, that's a sponge! I looked right over the main subject in the pic! LOL. Sorry about that.

chances are its nothing but a sponge or some other filter feeder, i wouldnt worry unless it is spreading over everything.

Defiantly sponge, they're plenty types. This looks like one that doesn't like like and only grows on the underside. Sponges can get out of hand in a reef if there is no predator to eat like angels. Long as it doesn't creep over the top side your cool, if it does you'll need to keep it down it will suffocate corals.

I have tons of those in my tank. They will stay pretty much to the underside of the rocks, but have never been aggressive to anything in the tank or caused an aggressive reaction from another coral.

I have tons of Spongebob in my tank too LOL;D I think they are just another natural wonder of the reef . If it gets to a point that you are unhappy with how it looks then you could just do some trimming.
