I'm looking at some Sumpfugium designs and came up with some questions.

What are the benifits of a spray bar on the end of a sump return line Vs. just a nozzle?
What are some good, cheap, one way valves available to prevent reverse flow?
Does a bubble trap matter if the water is flowing thru lots of macroalgae?

I have/use spray bars in my system and I love it. You can point each "nipple" towards anywhere you what or need to. Eliminates the need for extra pumps inside the display tank to create the water flow. Some ppl dont like them but I do. If your going to have a refuguim, you will need a slow flow. They sell one way check valves to prevent the reverse flow on the main pump when elec. goes out.

I had the spray bar on my tank for awhile but took it off. I didn't like it as much as I thought I would.
