I have a 72 bow, with two Number 4Hydor circ pumps and a marinleand canister filter. My question is could I run a spray bar with this filter? It pumps alot of water, probaly more once I remove the BB's. It seems like the single outlet of water is creating issues with water circulation.

So what would the best way to set this up be? Along the bottom of the tank, Along the top? A T in the middle?

Is this a reef tank? I have a mag 9 pump inside my display tank that I ran a spray bar off of. Its real easy to set up. Leave your main filter pushing as much water as possible movement of your water is huge. Let me know if you need help if you want to go with a mag 9 or any other pump.

The mag 9 has a threaded adapter(3/4) then a 90 deg. elbow coming of the intake then run a piece of pvc up about 15" or so what ever you like then put a strianer on top so you dont suck any snails in. Then on the output another threaded adapter with a small piece of pvc (this is for the hieght of the bar so its up to you) then a 90 deg. elbow. Then your bar a piece of pvc as long as you want with a cap at the end. Drill as many holes as you want. My holes are 1/8 start out small and with not that many holes. You can always go bigger and add more. The pump will sit at either end of your tank in the back behind some rock just don't make it to hard to get out if you need to clean it every once in awhile. Also the output goes one way and the input goes the other way. All parts you can get at home depot for about 8$ not including the pump. Let me know if you need more help or some pics to show you what it looks like. Also I had to make a new bar I drilled to many holes pointing down and it moved my sand a little to much. You can drill at angles to move the water the way you want. Great investment well worth the work as well.

Spray bars offer little as for water movement other then the surface and a properly set up pump will do a better job at moving the surface over and around.
Spray bars create lots of slat spray id set up properly and in a yr or so they need to taken apart and be totally cleaned as the holes plug or and at the levels of calcium and carbonates we use in reefs thats lucky if it goes a yr. I have used them and removed them and several I know also had the same problems .. My Now wife took someones advice several yrs ago and used a mag 9 for hers :) It was in the trash in less then 2 yrs.

Yow would be far better off using a couple of pump to create a uplifting vortex and rolling the surface over to the bottom and so on a few hundred times a day. Corals will be better off for the cleansing water movement's

But hey its you time and tank just offering what I have seen to every spray bar I have ever used or seen used . many yrs ago thats all we had as the pumps where not available as now.. Good luck

Thats what I need to do! I gotta put the korilas at the bottom of the tank and push up. duh. haha. Ill have to experiment with that when I get home.

Then maybe I will do a Double outlet on the canister filter to help spread out the cleaned water.

You put the Korilas on opposite ends of the tank and one up about 5 " under the water line shooting up wards to wards the middle of the tank then one on the other end pointed to wards the middle bottom the vortex and water movement will take all the dirty water to the power filter . Like you said when done you will have to tweak them but a spray bar offers few benefits really sounds and looks cool but so did the Ford Edsiel .. Thats a old car google it :)
