was wanting to ask if there is a certain way spray bars have to be set up??
ive only ever seen them at the back of the tank pointing down and was curious, could i put them at the front, bottom of the tank pointing up towards the rock face and following the curve on my bow front tank.

was going to do it in two halfs with the pipes running down the corner and along the bottom then the front using two ehiem 2217 canisters;D

    all coments welcome

I have about 3' of LocLine spray bar from the back of the tank facing forward and pointed at all different directions. Depending on which corals need flow and which dont. IMO, you can place them anywhere(back wall, front glass, bottom back or front) it really doesnt matter, luna

    + 1 on Lunatic above

the base of reef tanks can get neglected in some flow scenarios
the addition of a spray bar lower can be a great help in preventing low flow zones and cyno paradise

If by spray bar you mean a pipe with ohh say 1/4" holes drilled along its length and then a pump put on to it then hidden down behind the rock work in hopes it will keep that area clean and freshwater moving around ? Then Its a waste of time really unless you have access to it to clean it it every few months . Several yrs ago my now wife got sold that bill of goods on the same deal in her then 90 gal. It was on another board and I told her then what I'm offering you its a waste of time really unless you figure on access to clean and soak it every few months .

best thing to do is drill and use a wave maker of some sort on a circulation pump.. Anyone who has ever ran a spray bar in this fashion will tell you the calcium, corallines ,worms, Pods, grit and sand always stops them up.

Good luch with it if you try it..
