dude i started in the aquarium hobby when i was 8, didnt get my first saltwater till i was 10 and it was the coolest thing ever for me even though it was a mere twenty galont all with 2 damsels and a cbs in it.
try to find a job at an lfs or something, when i was your age all my parents paid for was the electricity bill, and i still had to pay 20 percent of that. i would not have your mom going out and buying high end equipment for you.
i dont even have an AI nano for my tank! and i have 2 jobs!

Really the AI Nano is going to be more than enough for that tank as far as par goes. The only issue I see is that it might not have the best coverages on the outside edges.

this is true you may want to put a couple panorama modules or two par38's on the outer edges to avoid the spotlight effect.

it appears that the other 2 lights he hars are basically 16000K led spot lights. YOu could definetly hook them up for better coverage but its not required. Also you could raise the AI off the water and up the power to compensate, this would have more spread i believe.

Well the AI nano is an awesome little light, however the sol would have been a much better option for your sized tank as far as coverage. Your nano packs a cree xml chip in it so that light is friggin bright. If you got a 20 gallon, you ahve like a 12 15" height, which means this thing should be mounted pretty high anyways, like 18 inches above the tank at full higher power for coverage and par, or you dim it down put it closer to the tank and yes you will need those supplement lighting.

I must say also i cant believe you have an AI nano at your age. My parents would have killed me if i ever dropped money on something like that when i was 11. I had to get 2 jobs to save up for the Nintendo 64 when it first came out and i was 13 and was told I'm a fool for wasting 200 bucks on that. I could not imagine asking my parents for a 400 dollar led light for my fish tank lol.

    You are a lucky kid,

The fact that he's 11, and can actually figure that his mother buys 40% of his stuff, and that he can run a reef tank, tells me that he's already light years ahead of the bone-headed 10-13 years old I know.

Instead of tearing this guy down, get over yourselves. Nobody cares how hard your life was if you're going to whine about it and put down another reefer.

Now for fragginawesome--- you have more than enough lighting, if that's what you're asking. In fact, don't fry your corals, the AI unit is very strong. BTW, you'd help us read your posts a little better with some proper punctuation ;).
