So i am gettin some sps on Wednesday and was wondering if it was bad for these delicate coral to be above the water line at a water change. Anyone have any advice here? I will be wanting to place the sps frags pretty high up in the reef for the best light. Just wondering if they shouldnt be allowed to be exposed to air??

no its completely fine... they are exposed to air in low tide sometimes. their slime will protect them

I also agree. When I frag them I take them out of the water for periods of time and they do fine. BTW, the frags your getting are under 6x54w Tek T5 lighting, so are used to pretty high light. But don't worry too much about that b/c under a little lower light, you should actually get better color out of the slimer and BOP.

There was a link posted about a well know hobbyist who traveled to Fiji I believe. He posted videos and there were a few that show at low tide, thousands of sps out of the water for several hours, under the sun. It was really cool. I will try to find the link, but try googling fiji sps corals tide or something like that.
