It doesn't look like Pavona to me.

    Psammocora is my guess.

It's definitely not stylophora. I received from a guy that was told it was Blue ridge coral, which is totally incorrect. I have this same thread going elsewhere, and there is still no definitive answer.

I was thinking that it was povona, and someone else suggested that it was Psammocora as well. I'm kinda at a loss here. I was told by the guy I got it from that the closer/higher I put it in my tank, that it will turn crazy bright emerald green, he said it almost appears fake. I don't know if that would help id it or not??? And I also know that different lighting can cause different coloring.

When the polyps retract at night, does the underlying skeleton appear to have ridges, running in almost a circular pattern. Does the tissue retract to the point that the ridges stick up.

This color change almost does make it sound like hydnophora, with can be branching and plating.

silor will never let me live this down if it is hydnophora lol

No, when they retract it appears very smooth. The polyps look like just tiny little hairs, to the point of being fuzzy, but it doesnt have any noticeable pattern when they retract. Although, it is so small. When I get home from New Orleans, I need to get a magnifying glass on it.
