I was recently given some sps frags from someone taking down their tank, they where in rough shape, Hopefully they're still savable, any help ID'ing them would be great.

Unfortunately, IDs on SPS are extremely difficult, especially with no coloring. The fact that they are brown is a good sign. The brown is the algae in the coral that feeds it. You should see the color change from brown to whatever it is supposed to be after it get used to your tank (can take awhile). We can get you some generalized ID's though.....

    1 Digitata
    2 Montipora Confusa
    3 Acro
    4 Acro
    5 Encrusting Monti

Top one I would have to say is not a digitata, second I can tell you pretty confidently is a BLUE RIDGE acro, third might be a valida forth is too brown and small to even guess and like jonjon stated appears to be an encrusting monti of sorts

Like I said hard to ID. Thanks Frag. You've got years of experience compared to me on these little guys.

They are tough, I just know digitatas have a more "sunken" in corallite opening, that top one almost looks like a slimer or similar staghorn do to the "bumpy" coralites...

But hey I could be way off! :D

Am nit picking here, but "blue ridge" anything is not an identifying name nor is any of the hobby created common names, zoanthids are a good example. As for identifications of what you have, Acropora and Montipora, genus is about all you can hope for with these two groups as there is simply no way you can ID these groups from photos, and even with skeletal examples in hand, it is nearly impossible to ID a montipora and can be completely impossible for Acropora due to hybrids.
