i'm not trying to be rude or anything. i was reading through the thread and it sounded like you thought ORA and sps were two types of coral. i was just making sure there was no confusion.

I dont think he said that. The title says SPS/ora. Meaning he is trying to buy SPS raised from ORA

Just a quick question..what's the difference b/w ORA corals & aquacultured corals? Are ORA directly from "ORA", where as aquacultered are from other companies too? idk.

I'm seeing you only have 5 posts and such, I don't want to doubt you or anything, but since you're asking about ease of care, is your tank all ready for SPS? Have you kept SW tanks before? I only ask since your level of exp. may be relevant to the SPS you select.

To your initial question, I've never heard of different ORA corals being harder to keep then others. However, they sell different species. IMO, Acropora sps corals are harder to keep then montipora for instance. I have several ORA corals including Red Planet, Blue/green Tort, Pearl Berry and Bird of Paradise. They have all done very well for me. I would just pick one and try it out.

ORA corals are aquacultured corals. ORA is the name of the company that grows these corals. It stands for Oceans, Reefs and Aquariums. Many other vendors and hobbyists aquaculture corals. All you need to do is frag a coral and raise it in captivity.

ChicagoReefOne~ This August will be my 6th year having a SW tank, my 5th year having corals, and 8 months of having SPS corals. I have had Montipora and Seriatopora and Pocillopora since December, and I just got a Gold Birdsnest, Tri color acro, and teal tip stag.... all of which have shown growth in the past week (I see some growth "bulges") and all the polyps are nicely extended.

Guitarman~ I don't think that quote was mine, because I knew that ORA were aquacultured (but with real seawater).

ingtar_shinowa~ I got a Monti Cap, and I left it exposed for a few minutes too long so half of it is bleached...but since then has grown nicely and has a nice rusty color (not too red not too orange)
