What brand and model of meter are you using too might be beneficial.

I used an Apogee PAR meter that Dana Riddle helped me get for a discount but I've since donated it to be shared by a reef club. Joy from PFO Lighting gave me another one but I've donated that to a LFS. Anyone who has used one of these knows that if you move the sensor two inches, the readings can vary by a LOT and it's not just two inches up and down.....it's left and right and forward and back too. I don't know how this poll can be useful. What type of SPS are you talking about? I would light a M. capricornus very differently than a M. danae and a M. digitata. What about Acroporids? I certainly wouldn't want to put a deepwater Acropora in a very high PAR environment.
