That's pretty cool. So it's the wireless one I want, since they are connectible? Correct?

I don't know if the nonwireless ones sync together with like a wire or something so yeah I would go with the wireless ones.I have an mp40 in my 90 now and I kinda wish I would have went with two smaller ones.

These are awesome pumps, but I just don't know if we can eat the cost of them. :( I know everyone who has them says they are worth every penny.

I have VorTech's in two of my tanks. One being a 72 gal mixed reef, and the other a 265 gal mixed reef. They are amazing! My fish and coral seem to LOVE them. IMO they're the best out there right now. If you have the money they're worth every penny.

Do you think 2 mp10w Es in my 75 would be good alone with 2 koralia nano 425s? Plus my 800gph return...

Vortech are not even comparable to other power heads. It's the type of flow they produce not the GPH that matters. GPH is not really a good measure, but it is the only one we have. A couple of Korillias putting out 2500 gph is not even the same as a MP40 doing it.

Not every one can afford them, but if you get one you will stop questioning if the are worth it. They are the best flow producers on the market. You have to decide it they are worth the money.

You really need to call Vortech and talk to them. They are more than happy to help out and will answer all your question. One MP40 on a 75 will be plenty. I had two on my 90g and they only ran up to 75% power max. Full speed was too much. Two MP20 will be great. Probably two MP10s... but the lesser models are not connectible.

The pump itself is awesome. Connecting 2 pumps in sync or anti sync makes them special. Your tank will be better for it. The 20s used to not be connectible, but now they are. Just be sure to talk to Vortch before you buy to know what you need. There is another very big site that has Vortechs pretty regularly. I have purchased a few Vortechs used and have no problem doing so. If they are still under warantee Vortech honors it with the new owner.

Did you get the used ones from other reefers, like friends or off of Craig's Liist?

Is there any certain reason that the mp10 and 40 both have the new driver(s), but the mp20 has the old one?

I have a vortech and really like it. The flow is very strong. 30x turnover with the Vortech seems to move a lot more water than 30x with my Koralis. That said though, I do think it is a luxury and not a necessity. If you have the money and want to spend it, sure go for it. IMHO though, I don't think you'll see a night and day difference in your coral health though. The only exception may be that if the flow is too strong you can turn it down. And the night more is nice, but there are ways to do the same for less $ with the Koralis, it's just easier with the Vortech. Even random flow can be created by pointing Hydors at each other, at slightly different angles and varying them manually once and a while. For me it just comes down to laziness really.

I was looking at a whole bunch of videos for these pumps today. I want some. But Dad is the one paying for the tank. ::) We'll have to see about getting these.

From what I read they phased the mp20s out. I'm not sure why but they did that and introduced the mp60s( to big for your tank I believe lol). I don't know if any of the 20s were syncable I know they made tens that are tho. I feel that my corals are a lot healthier with the mp40 then with the 2 power heads I had before. They were only modded maxijets but I had my return pump running faster with the sqwd to get more flow and now I just have the mp40 and a wave back and forth and the difference is unbelievably better.
