    Hi,

I introduced my first fish, a yellow squareback anthias into my 55 gallon live rock only tank. He seems to be doing fine, swimming and eating well. He is doing this really weird thing, he must see his shadow in the glass and he stares at the glass and then runs face first into the glass with his mouth open. He only does this when the lights in the tank are on. I'm not sure why he is doing this, I'm thinking he's just getting used to the tank.

Just seeing if anyone has any experience with recently added fish doing this. Thanks alot.

I have witnessed fish showing aggression to their own reflections
but Anthias are a shoaling species of fish and as such your fishes reaction sounds like it
might be delight in what it thinks is another Anthias ?

not sure really, so post bumped for other input

Thanks for the input. So what fish do you think would be good tankmates with this type of anthias? Thanks.

How big of a tank do you have mike?

Preferably, they hang out with their own kind, but other schooling fish could work as well. I had a Green Anthias that liked to hang out with my firefish.
