sringy clear stuff in sump..

I know youre going to want to see pictures, but my camera just cant capture this stuff that is on the glass of my sump.. its about 2 inches long, very clear, its stringy and flowing with the currents. To be frank, it looks kind of like the clear snot you produce when you have a cold. I have tried to put crabs, snails, and shrimp in my sump to eat it and nothing will touch the stuff. It doesnt get into the DT or refug, so it doesnt bother me, I just want to know if its bad or not.. any help would be appreciated..

 

possibly dinoflagellates (or snot algae).

They are usually brown, but sometimes they are green, red, clear, etc.

is there any aiptasia around? I have seen some freaky stuff like that come from them.

no aiptasia, Its just some slime clear stuff.. I put a spare powerhead in my sump to make the water circulate faster and it seems to make it go away? Im still stumped as to what it is.. It might be dinoflagellates..
