i currently have about 11 kilos of really good live rock rubble and have added it to my sump

at the moment i have built a wall on a 45 degree angle from corner to corner with loads of space in between but, this has taken a lot of room and i was wondering if i stacked it under the water pipe in the corner of the sump would this work just aswell

i dont want to just dump it all over the bottom as the build up of muck due to poor water flow wouldnt do any good

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Seems like as long as it's submerged and getting flow it would be just fine. Trying to reduce the tendency for detritus to build within using flow would be how I would approach it.

Is it necessary to fix the rubble in one spot for optimal flow through it? I mean if there's a lot of flow on and around it doesn't that cut down on the good things that are colonizing it like pods?

I have about 15 lbs of live rock in my sump and just put my return from my reactor at the bottom of the live rock. Keeps good up flow through the rock and cuts down on letting things settle in the bottom.
