I have two damsels, they were cheap but it seems a waste of life if resculpting my reef will kill them. I have rocks touching the glass in a few spots. Aside from that, I just don't want to go through all of that again.

...Damnit. Even as I sit here, I know that it isn't right.

Can I get away with taking it all out and starting over? Will they survive in a specimen container for an hour or so?

Re-aquascaping will not kill your damsels. Unless you drop a rock on them- which may subquently do some damage. Just be careful when your placing your rocks from one area to another to make sure that the damsels aren't trying to hide under a piece your currently holding (but they'll usually stay far away from the action). Damsels are very hardy fish. Even if you blow up a load of sand into the water and it gets fairly murky, the damsels will still be fine.

BTW- don't move your damsels to a specimen container or any other container during the brief time its going to take you to re-aquascape- If anything, the move from one container to another and back may cause them to stress.

Yep...Damsels are very durable...just work around them. Expect they may even try to help by attacking your fingers...just don't get startled and drop a rock on them...;D

Ok, I came across 35lbs of good rock that was in a tear down cycling tank at my moms house. I'm just going to remove bits until i get a good look, then start building the new pattern. Thanks for the tips.
