Perhaps you could frame everything in steel and use just cut pieces of flat glass or acrylic to make the sump? All you would have to do is have the pieces cut to your specs and silicone them in. You could put channels in the top fram to slide the baffles into if you need them.

    Compromise between the 2 materials....

    Thanks birdlady!

i think i will give the idea of metal a wide berth and go for glass!!!

but it is a good idea to make the frames for things out of metal (without any contact).

then it will keep the old man happy as he gets quite proud of making things for me (just made me a mirror finished housing for a 250 watt metal halide with three 3 inch fans)

Now that is where stainless would shine, literally, as lamp housings. Built in reflector. We would all be envious.

    Cheers,

Hey, share you old man's work, got pics?

It would be recommend to add a grounding lug on a stainless frame.

    Malachi,

Just a word of warning, they do 220 in the UK, Wales unfortunately being in the UK.

But your signature indicates you enjoy the odd pint from time to time. Thay have been know to brew a proper ale now and again in Wales. You might try that.

Now, I read with some dismay that you were in fact being truthfull with the "trip cancelled by snow" story. I tell you, you need to get in tough with the airlines, it was not that bad here, honestly.

All jocking asside, being a member of the US Embassy here, I have to support the current advisory against coming here. Once things calm down, please do, and honestly, we will communicate in private channels and get together here in Jakarta. We can have a good time.

    Cheers,
    Ray

sounds like a plan. Airlines complain about 8.5" of snow in 3 hours, wimps. Visabilty is always over rated in my opinion
