Ok, here's the deal, with my parents starting to get into the whole fish keeping thing, they are saying if i'm going to spend this much money on my tank that i should not put my pufferr in there.

So, they are saying, that i should keep him in his 20 gall. But i feel bad for him being in there so do i give my puffer to the lfs, or keep him in his 20 gall.

So either way the puffer is now not going in the tank.

So what are my options for a 46 bow.

While talking to my parents they are saying i should put a hippo tank in my 46 and they swear that the fish will not grow to it's true size in a small tank, but i refuse to put a fish in a tank that it will outgrow.

So what can i put in the 46 that will not outgrow the tank, but at the same time be bright and colorful, lol since that's what the paretns want in MY tank lol

i know, i'm already a big fan of wrasse fish, but they were saying that i have to get, "their words" some nemos for the tank and some other brightly colored fish.

lol i almost hate that they are starting to like fish keeping and stuff

Its probably for the best anyways, now you can safely have a bunch of hermits, snails and shrimps in the 46 reef. I tried having a lion fish in a reef, but soon came to realize that my options were severely limited for reef compatible tank mates. I think your puffer only gets to be 3" anyways, a 20 gallon tank might just be OK for the long haul.

as for STOCKING (not stalking) why not go for a breeding pair of clowns and after the tank matures add in an anemone. please don't put any kind of tang in that tank.

haha i know, about the title, after i submitted the post i just realized i used the wrong stocking, and tried to edit the post, but found that i couldn't edit the title :D

And the puffer does look about 3 inches right now.

And lol i will NOT put a tang in my tank, no matter how much they fight me over it, but in the end, it's my tank and i have the final say of what goes in it, so there will never be a tang in here :D

And what else besides a pair of breeding clowns, i was still thinking about getting the melanurus *sp* wrasse, and i'm not sure what else could go in the tank

in your last 5 page thread on stocking, a melanurus wrasse is the only decent idea I see posted for that size tank. If you go by the standards of 3-4 gallons per 1" of fish your looking at 12 - 15" of adult sized fish. you could do a pair of clowns and the wrasse and you would be just about full. maybe you could add a royal gramma for a flash of color, or a some kind of smallish goby like this one

lol and my sister is here on vacation, and she was saying that she liked the fish that were half purple and half yellow, which looks like the royal gramma, do you think it would this list be possible:

    2 clownfish
    1 melanurus wrasse
    1 royal gramma
    1 goby *since bottom dweler*
and a bunch of clean up crew

    and leave it at that?
