    im building a stand for my 135 gallon tank i will have a 55 gallon sump.

    How are you gonna get the sump in the stand ? From the side ? Just curious

    IMO you are putting alot of weight on the fasteners you used. I would suggest adding some vertical 2x4s under you horizontal supports and just nail them to the existing vertical supports.

    post some more progress pics!!!!

    there wont be any weight on the screws it will all be on the verticals. look at the green marks

    Why don't you run some horizontal 2x4's along the top of the 2x4's your tank will be sitting on? I think that it would make for a safer seat for your aquarium and spread the weight a lot more evenly.

    Ok, that makes more since to me now. How thick of plywood do you plan on using? I would personally suggest at least 3/4" for the top anyways.
