Stand for skimmer

    Be careful using the eggcrate. If you don't reinforce the center where most of the weight from the skimmer will be, it can break under the weight of the skimmer. I made my skimmer stand out of leftover PVC pipe as well.
    Here's a pic of the stand I made. I just pressure fit them together, I didn't glue it.

    I built mine like ibefishy suggested and it works real well!

    I also used Eggcrate and actually glued it with PVC primer and cement.... It's holding up pretty good. Smell went away a couple of hours after building and center brace keeps the skimmer steady and firm.

    Nice little stand there! I would've been more elaborate however going to home depot when you live in the hills is a lot of work for me, or I am just lazy :)

    I hear you though. Living in the area to make trips convenient is something that is taken for granted and is a luxury. I usually buy way too much and end up with a heap of extra stuff to avoid those "darn not enough" moments, so I am always thinking of extra stuff to make out of the scraps, and this happened to be one of those things.
