Instead of clicking "reply" just click "quote" at the bottom right hand corner of the message. Then type away.
Glad you are happy with yours, I think I'm gonna like it up high as well.
    Thanks,

personally that would be too tall for my liking. the standard store bought stand for my 150 is 28" which forces me to the top of a 3 step stool in order to reach the bottom of the tank for maintenance. Ofcourse the 150 is a tall tank to begin with at 29"

In the end it all boils down to our own personal tastes so I say go for it :)

alrite yeah i think 40 + inches is just way too tall. im 5'6" and i think i made my stand to 30" and i think that is the standard height. here are some pics to help you out. the stand is not done... it doesnt have doors because well school started.. but i will finish the doors over my winter break... i was about to do a build thread but never got a chance. i guess ill just post a quick build thread when im done with school. forgot to mention this tank is 4 feet 80 gallons. hope this helps.

Looks great. Mine will look very similar (only taller) and probably just the one center brace in the rear as well.
    Thanks for sharing.

I built mine 36" I now wish I would have went to 40" +. It would be nice to have more room under the stand IMPO. If/when I ever go to a bigger tank my stand will be at least 40" high. I would rather have more room than not enough. I am pretty much maxed out now.

So what if you need a step stool to reach the bottom . . . if its really a big deal, just get one of those nifty pincher tools. IMO not having to bend over to look into your tank close up is well worth it.
