    Aqueon Pine Stand #51192 74" x 26.5" x 29.8"

I believe it's made of white pine. There is no paint or coating where the pine meets the carpet.

My sump had a overflow two days ago. I spilled around 15 gallons of water onto the base of my Stand and the carpet beneath. It's still wet where the base of the stand and carpet meet. The wooden shims are soaked as well.

Is this likely to cause damage to the stand?

Your stand should be fine. They are solid wood.

"Each stand and canopy is stained and finished with a waterproofing sealer that will protect them from splashes and other water damage".

It's the particle board ones you need to worry about.

+1 you may get mold if you dont get the carpet properly dried, but the stand should have no issues. To Renee's point, if you had particle board, your stand probably would have collapsed already.

Believe it or not, I had a particle board one for about 10 years. Soaked it a million times and wood was expanded and the door had a hard time closing, but she held the entire time. When I moved, I tore it apart by hand.

    Lev,

Sorry to hear about your overflow.

Have you that problem adressed? Rarely a reason EVER, to have an true overflow/ flood/ etc.

Inquiring minds like mine would like to know, in case you need any advise on your system, etc.

For instance, I've heard of a reefer overflowing his sump after his filter sock became dirty and flowed over the top- easy fix- make it where even if that happens it returns to the sump, etc.

This is going to suck but you need to move the tank and get all the water out of the carpet. You may already have early stages of mold. A shop vac should help the situation greatly. A good one can actually get it close to completely dry.

I had this happen to me once I dropped about 8 gallons from a leaky pvc line. The method I used was vacuum out a section then towel off the what rises to the surface of the carpet. Repeat this till there is no moisture in the area.

The only way that is better would be too lift the carpet and do the same. Not sure if this is an option for you or not. Hope it works out for you.

It was actually the ATO overflowing with RO/DI water because I left it running to long without watching it. I recently upgraded to the Dual 75 RO membranes and it more than doubled the speed of my single 75 RO membrane.

This is third time I've flooded the stand, although the other times were not as bad.

1st - Reef Keeper in Standby Mode and I pulled both Durso standpipes from the overflows to see if my sump could handle that much water. Learned I can have all the pumps off and 1 Durso Standpipe removed without flooding.

2nd - Protein Skimmer at Full Speed and Gate Valve almost entirely closed.

    3rd - Overfilling ATO.

Well, the 3rd anyways can have a simple float valve like I use on my
ATO, to shut off RO/DI when the container is full. About $10 shipped- good one too.
