    Hello
My Star polyps have closed, they were looking good when I bought them about a week ago, but the last couple days have been kinda closed---Is this normal??
I moved them to the bottom to see if that helps

My other stuff looks good and water test are in range
    Thanks

They do the same in my case. Can you notice any damaged tissue, lack of coloration ?! Could you test your water?! My polyps do the same from time to time.

My star polyps are always going great guns even when my water quality slips ( not great values). I credit this to the fact that they are high in my tank and in highly turbulant flow.
maybee this can help.... High flow & good lighting

One more question high or low in the tank?

Try moving them higher/lower in the tank. Also water current might be effecting them, too much/not enough.
I've had 3 types and just had to adjust them each once a day till I found the place they were happy!

Have found to be very sensitive to temperature changes. May take a while to get used to being in new home.

Mine close occasionally sometimes for a few day's but they always have opened back up. I have them both low and high in my 16 gallon tank some have grown to the point that they are only about an inch or so from the top a and some that are down on the sand and that tank almost is 18" high.

My Star Polyp colony closed for almost 2 weeks one time and I freaked out. Do not panic ok give it some time. Mine has done this a few times but 2 weeks was the longest. I wouldn't mess with it too much more light is better.

Oh yeah they are sensitive to some types of phosphate removers so if you are using any I would remove them for a while.
