star poylp not open

    since yesterday my polyp does not seem to want to open....waited a couple hours and transfered it to my 24 gallon nano.....was that a bad idea. movin it to the other tank did not seem to help. what shud i do. i checked all my params and everything is great....have sum xenias that are fine and two fish who dont seem to be bothered. any advice would be appreciated. did a water change last weekend.

    these just do this sometimes... it's perfectly normal. leave it be (or put it back and leave it be). mine occasionally (not very often) close up for a couple days.

    polyps did not open over the weekend.....is it completely dead? should i just remove from tank? what do i do?

    how do the actual polyp pods look? they still have color?

    Mine do this all the time... I have two frags. Both do it. Slightest bit of movement or anything and they close up for a few days.

    +1, you might have a fish that keeps messing with it. My blenny likes to perch in mine, pisses the grass off for a few hours. Even change of flows messes them up.

    Don't worry about it too much yet, one of mine remained closed for 8 days once and then when it decided to take a peek it took another 3 days before it fully opened up.

    great great great news.....when i got home from work yesterday it was open and lookin good. it was closed for 7 days! never had that happen to me before....but seems like alot of u guys have experienced the same thing...thanx for all the feedback

    Mine closed up for a week once, never could determine the cause but it could have been because it was a new tank. Just make sure you brush off any diatoms or algae growing on them and they should open back up if you just give it time.
