I just recently purchased one and had a few questions about this little guy.

Is he mostly a shy fish that never really comes out?

Do I really have to feed him everyday, three times a day?

Well first, that's not a good fish for a 30 gallon tank. Anthias require large tanks to have plenty of swimming room to maintain their health. That particular fish is recommended to have a 125 gal. aquarium, but IMO a 75+ would work. They do need to be fed frequently or they will waste away. They are not beginner fish for mainly that reason, and the fact that you may have trouble getting them to eat prepared foods. They have very high metabolisms and should be fed small meals, 3x a day. Having a refugium will help as they naturally eat zooplankton in the water. Hopefully yours will work out, but you don't have ideal conditions.

Also, on a side note, you may want to consider changing the color of you signature as the yellow is hard to read IMO. Just a thought.

Guh, see my LFS told me things very differently...This really sucks because now I am stuck with a fish I definitely do not want and I know its almost all my fault because I didn't research but I thought I could take the LFS word on it.

Also, I watched this fish eat mysis like crazy though before buying it...but I would still rather not have to worry about him so much...

Its not that I don't like him its the fact that apparently he is going to hide a lot and also my tank is too small for him and he might die really easily? Thats what I got from GuitarMans post...

Most LFS will try to sell you a flat tire. You have to watch places like this. They are out to just sell livestock because that is how they make money. Until you find a place and person you can trust you will have to do your research yourself and refrain from the dreaded "Impulse Buy"

So do you guys think it will probably die or it has a good chance of surviving?
