It is a dry heat, yeah right !
It is an Asterina Star. Some are just grazers of algae, some hobbyist have issues with population control and there is the occasional coral eater type. There are hundreds of different types. Number of arms makes no difference as they reproduce by lateral fission, ending up with any number of arms. Color is sometimes helpful. Basically you have to observe and decide if the starfish will become an issue. Some types are known to be predatory to Zoanthids as well as Birds Nest and other sps corals.

What I have started to do is if i find something and question its intent, take it out and put it in a container until you find out if it is naughty or nice.

Do you contain them within the tank or add them to a separate system?

Also I'm guessing these are little children of the original offender?

I put them in a plastic bag or a container where it can't get out and float it in my sump

Be safe and remove them as you see them.
