There's another mating situation going on in my tank. It hasn't happened in a while, and the first time it did, I thought the starfish was melting. He, or she, is motoring around the tank in a broadcast fashion. The starfish was losing weight for a while, so I'm glad it's back in shape.

Crazy, huh? It's an Echinaster echinophorus. A buddy of mine had it for a while and gave it to me when he bought a Harlequin shrimp. I've had if for nearly a year now. I have no idea what it eats, but it looks happy again. ;D

Yep, completely reef safe. I had a tile star that would occasionally eat some corals. When I saw it extent it's stomach around a baby acan polyp and dissolve it, it was bye bye starfish. Now I have the Red Knobby star and a Sandsifting star.

Thanks, I look at mating as the ultimate sign of healthy creatures. I started feeding more particle foods like Reef Chili and Coral Frenzy as well as the Nutramar Ova (prawn eggs). The new Dragonface pipes have been doing a mating dance also. ;D
