    Normally no, there is one of two species that are bad but rarely show up in the hobby. There are some that eat coralline algae they are usually blue.

    Some people will kill them and some will keep them. I have one in my tank which I've only seen maybe three times. One or two is ok but just don't let them get out of control. To kill it is up to you. Do you have a fuge or sump you can put it in?

    Got a filter area in the back of tank that used to hold bioballs full of rock atm. :D

    I have a blue one, but has 5 legs all same size - tiny little critter hasnt done any harm. Also have at least one the same as yours too. never see him
    - and a small white bristle star - Ive seen once. Oh and a sand shifting star that i see all the time
