I just recently lost my orange linka. This is actually the first time I'm even admitting the loss as he had a tenancy to disapear for a while... had him for about 8 or 9 months. /sigh

I had my red Linkia for about 9 months before i lost him when i transferred to a larger tank. He did well for about the first 6 months, grew well, seemed happy etc, but in the last 2-3 months he appeared to be shrinking. It is my understanding that they eat biofilm and i assume that he consumed it all and was beginning to starve. Unfortunately i was given bad info from my LFS when i bought him and was told they are easy to keep. I should have researched before i bought. I have a large serpent star now that comes out every time i feed. Very fun to watch and seems to be doing well. He even tries to grab my fingers if im doing work in the tank. My tank is a mixed reef so i will not be trying any other types of stars.
