Starfish trys to eat scallop (Pictures)

Yeah, his is nice. Only worries me that they can eat fish. :-/

I have a big black brittlestar. They are supposed to be less predatorial. I only ever see his arms sticking out from under a big rock. He has dug himself a nice den. I think he has been eating my astreas. There is a shell pile next to his rock > but I have not witnessed anything.

 

i agree i like inverts alot...they r easier than fish i think...most (besides stars) dont get sick...uh they just die...but if they dont then they r good (well they get sick but u cant really do anything)...my favorite is my Hermit Formally Known As StagHorn (he ditched his coral shell)

 

I have this big red scarlet hermit that has a weird lookung molusk attatched to his shell. I have seen it move but only like 1/8 inch at a time. His shell is shaped exactly like a half of a pistachio shell. Does anyone know what it is? I also have one that has some sort of slow growing encrusting coral on its shell. I have been tempted to start some metalic green star polyps on his shell just to see if they would attatch. Or mabey a xenis. I saw a picture with a hermit with a xenia attatched to his shell once. COOL

Green brittles will eat anything they can kill!!!!! I like to keep those in FOWLR tanks.
