    I would look to a brittle star.

    A nano tank does not have enough flora in the long run to keep any starfish happy.

    I've had good success with the red Fromia sp. stars. They don't get very large and are fairly hardy. They also come out in the open during the day, so you actually have a chance of seeing them. Serpents and Brittles are the most hardy IME, but will quickly get too large for a 29 (unless you want a 12"+ star in there, LOL). Most everything else have fairly dismal survival rates...even more so in a smaller tank.

    I agree for the most part.

    I have kept the Red Formia in a nano successfully but that was only after I decided that I would leave one wall of the tank untouched from the mag float or cleaning. I believe they need that bio-film to do well long term.
