Hey I have a 55 gal, would a chocolate chip star fish get along with a sand sifting starfish?

Chocolate chips starts are not reef safe, they are coral eaters. While I have never kept those two types of star fish in the same system I would be hesitant to do so.

Hopefully someone that has kept them together will chime in.

    Welcome to 3reef Ben.

    +1

Also, the sand-sifting star preys on sandbed infauna and usually starves once the population has been depleted. Very few have been known to actually scavenge, or survive for more than a few months.

My sand sifter is years old, but that's probably because I'm a slob and my sand bed is a little grotty.

    LoL

I do however feed "twinkle" on a weekly basis.

I've got a few sand sifters I've had since I started my first tank years ago. Maybe I'm lucky and they scavenge. I also have a scooter and mandarin goby that eats pellets so anythings possible. Lol. Id stay away from choclate chips personally.
