    yeh that would be bad, as it would be for her she is showing a big interest for a 7 year old and i would love to get her something she could watch and enjoy. not look at the tank and say hmmm where is he today?

    I have had a purple serpent star for about a year now. Only cost about $10 and it is extrememly hardy and is out a lot.

    My boyfriend has had a chocolate chip for over a year now since his tank was cycled with corals and has had no problems with it. We loved his brittle, too.

    I would try a Fromia Star. They are bright red and quite small. They do well in a Reef tank

    I've been looking for cool stars for my 46 bow too.. I have some serpants which are cool, but the one Jason just mentioned above looks better than anything I have! I just tried a pretty orange linka, no luck. That Fromia Star looks beautiful.

    i have a pink bubble tip brittle. He is pretty fun to watch. I have had no problems with him.

    So Linkias don't do well in aquariums? Seastars are basically the main reason I wanted to do Marine.

    Welcome to 3reef CHOX. There are stars that will do well in a reef, but some of the most beautiful will unfortunately not. I've heard people have had a lot more success with Fromias than with Linkias. I would try a Fromia for your daughter.

    i had a serpent star i would feed it algae wafers every once in a while. it swallows them whole
