Right now I'm in the market for a blenny, and I originally planned to get a starry blenny, but lately have been hearing. Things about them being highly aggressive:angry: Iv also heard that they can starve if kept in a tank with no natural nuisance algae growing, for my tank, I only have coralline so that would be an issue in itself. So I was looking around at the other bennies out there and the tails pot blenny seems pretty interesting, nice color, fairly small and also reported to be extremely peaceful. My only issue with a blenny that small is losing him in my 75 reef. Which blenny is best in your opinion out of the 2? Or if you have a better blenny, let me know. Thanks 8)

I have a Starry Blenny. He can be fiesty but the Kole Tang and the Dragon Goby keep him in check. He is quite the character (we call him grandpa) Mine eats whatever I feed, flake pellet, frozen, and I will hang algae sheets as well. So my vote for Starry! I dont know about them starving, mine always has a fat belly.

I've owned both at one time or another....right now I have a Starry AKA "Professor" and i love him...he has such great character...i've never really seen him be mean to anyone...he eats anything i feed to the tank, flakes, pellets, nori, mysis, squid etc..... The problem I had with the tail spots is that they always found their way into my overflow boxes...and eventually met their doom :( That was before i fixed my boxes so that no fish can get in em :)

I have a Yellowtail Fang blenny. Wonderful personality and what a character! Very active, eats anything and everything. About 3" now. Totally non-aggressive :) He/she love to hang out with my Target Mandarin. I used to have a Tailspot also (RIP) She liked to hide out within the rocks. I really like her but didn't see her no where as much as I would have liked.

Wow! beautiful fish indeed, but I was looking for more of a bottom dwelling blenny, but definately a gorgeous fish youve got there. Thanks for the heads up on the tailspot, im starting to lean towards a starry blenny :)

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Yep, if your tank crashes it will crash hard with that bio-load.
