Well ever since I have set up this tank about 3 years ago I made a lot of mistakes in those years. Right now I have been trying to fix the mistakes for a half a year but I only had one period that I was making some progress but that was in november so a long time ago.

If I should restart how should I go about it, I have fish, some coral and a recent cuc that I dont know what to do about. Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Specify "restart"..

Do you mean new tank/equipment? Or just tearing everything down and putting it back together.

If you're wanting to fix problems..I would say that starting a completely new tank is the best option (unless your problems are fixable..some just aren't). If you transfer everything to a new tank you'll just bring the problems along with it.

What do you think your mistakes are that causing you to want to start over. Maybe you just need a simple fix. Let us know what the problem is and I'm sure we can help you in some way or another.

like most of the other posters have written it depends on why you want to start over, i myself have thought of selling all my corals and doing a species tank with pulsing xenia,i have also been so frustrated at times i wanted to literally tear the f'n thing down. it all depnds on what you want to change

I would like to congratulate for spending the time to correct your mistakes. I think that if you tell us what your issues are and how you have attempted to fix them we could definitely help you make the right decision.

Well what I mean by starting over is to keep all of the same equippment and then cook the live rock, which I dont understand how to do, that way I would start off with a good supply of rock.

What is not going very well is the tank has a wierd look to it. Also I have alot of algae growing in the tank some of it is even growing on my corals. And this is the first time my gsp stop coming out so something is deffintly wrong.
When things were looking good thats when I took out my rock and scrubbed it really good and reformat the tank.
Heres some terrible pics but they are still pics:
If you look to the right of the snails you can see the algae im dealing with,
