So far only dosing alk. Tested yesterday my alk was at 6dkh. Dosed and raised it to 7. Dosed again today and raised to 8. Cal and mag are fine. So far in amazed at the results. My gsp got twice as big in one day. All my polyps are open for the first time, and my nem is fully inflated this is looking like a step in the right directon for my new tank.

if you are doing 2 part, I would do the both parts. The way I recommend most people doing it only testing your alk for the first week or two of 2 part dosing. Make sure you are dosing equal amounts of both. After 2 weeks, you can make adjustments as necessary. Otherwise, you get out of whack.

Why would you dose equal parts of both? They are most likely not going to be taken up the same amount. I would keep dosing the way you are.

Be careful. You've raised alk by 3 units in 3 doses. If you tank isn't consuming alk. at the same rate that you're dosing, you're just going to cause problems with high alk. Your coral load doesn't look to big so supplements may not be necessary, especially with softies. I have 15+ frags of sps and water changesi keep my numbers in line.

They absolutely will take up the same amount. CA and ALK are balanced and the tank uses and depletes both at absolutely the same rate. This is why EVERY commercially available 2 part product recommends getting both parts balanced out and then dosing the same amount. For the record, I have been dosing 2 part for years and have done it this way. On my current system, I am using BRS 2 part and have both timers on my dosing pumps set to the exact same times and both parts have been perfectly balanced since I started dosing.

I agree, make sure you are keeping a tight check on your numbers until you get the feel for the amount of 2 part your system actually needs.

I agree that your coral load doesn't look big... Not sure what salt your using or the frequency of water changes but for light loads water changes can usually keep up using the right salt, routine changes and proper amount..
Although needed a lot of time to keep levels good, it's much easier to not have to dose..

I recommend to test you levels and dose to get them where you want them.. Let the tank go for 5-7 days not adding anything to the tank and retest your levels.. Divide the amount used by the number of days you went and that should tell you the tanks average daily requirements... Then dose that amount daily...

Just my two cents. Good luck reefing...
