Does anyone know what kind of shrimp these could be? They are really really small, clear and have a dark band runnign down thier back.

This is the first time I have seen them in there (today).

I am guessing they came in on the live rock or live sand?

    Thanks for your help.

I will try and get a picture. It will be tough to do since they are so small. They don't appear to be brine shrimp....atleast not the same as the frozen brine shrimp I purchase.

Ya, I looked up brine shrimp pictures on-line.

It isn't a brine shrimp....These are a little larger in size anyways. It has the same structure as your typical shrimp would. These tend to curl up occasionally too.

They have paddle like front claws...or aleast thats how it appears.

I am sure if I got a sand sifter of some sort they would love 'em. Like a manderan.

sounds like an amphipod. I just found a bunch in my tank a few days ago, kinda shocking at first. They're very good to have in your tank.

I figured they were. They are neat little creatures. I also found a bristle worm in thier tonight.

Could my tank have already cycled in one week?

Seems strange to have all this additions to my tank so early in the process.

I started with live rock, live sand and a bacteria additive so I guess it's possible. I am going to give it a few more weeks though.
