Been playing with SW for a year now, mostly as a FOWLR. But since I've picked up an 180gallon tank, I want to start on Corals for the summer. My lighting is a 72" 760W (HQI+T5) setup so I can probably manage most corals and I have a full RODI unit for water quality. I was thinking of going initially with :

    - Trumpets (Green)
    - Chalices (Red)
    - White Pom Poms (White)
    - Candy Cane (Blue)

Any other suggestions for beginners (please no leathers...no offense, but I just don't like them)....

Almost any lps are good IMO, Acans, frogspawn, hammer, favia, favites etc. Many sps are fairly easy IMO as well, such as montipora, bali green slimer, birdsnests etc. Many people suggest coals such as mushrooms, xenia, zoas, and gsp, but I tend to stay away from that, unless that is what you like. Those corals tend to be more invasive and can quickly take over a small tank, or quickly spread around a larger tank. Now, if you know that and still want them, then go ahead. They are easy to take care of and very good beginner corals.
