What are some good starting corals or newbie corals? I'm looking to add a few to my new tank. Trying to figure out which ones I can start with.

What kind of lighting system do you have? I started out with waving hand anthelia and its doing great. I also have Kenya trees, pulsing xenia, leather toadstool, and mushrooms. I've had my tank setup for about 4 months and everything is doing great. I did just upgrade my light to two halides. My xenia took about 2 weeks to come around.

Lighting is important, if you can post that quick im sure alot of people will jump in and give you some nice ones, i started out with anthela, did a toadstool, and mushrooms, but it all depends on what kind of corals you want to have as well, are you going to do Softies, lps, sps?

Cheap corals!! If you have a local club or a local web group, check there for other hobbyists selling bits and pieces. there are usually somebody who wants to get rid of some kenyas or green star polyp.

And once you've mastered the softies, you can try some candycanes or cheaper montis to see how they do.

That's how I did it at least.

I currently have a 24" coralife t5 set. 1 actinic and 1 10k bulb. I'm looking for something that will fit my corner tank. 24" is the longest I can go and I'm trying to find a good set to get for my tank. For flow, I have 2 425gph korilias that are doing the trick right now.
