starting a 2.5 snail growout

    i've been getting alot snails so i'm going to be goeing them out so this is just another reason to start another tank

    it's going to be a 2.5gallon with my wallmart filter rated for a 10-15 gallon tank but with this snail tank i want alage to grow alot how do i do this

    should i put sand in this tank if so how much?
    rocks or no rocks? rubble?

    lights?

    you could place it where sunlight will reach it. I would add some sort of rock, probably just rubble for that small.

    yes u put that tank in a sun lite window and you will endeed get algae, and i would put a rock in for looks

    i cant have this tank near a window what about a regular incandecent light bulb

    Better off using a Compact flourecent and clamp on light from Home Depot or Menards. This is what I am using for my fuge.

    you could use a plant bulb, which I believe is around 6500K. You can find these bulbs in almost any hardware store. A 'redder' or 'yellow' tint will help the algae grow better.
